RAMSEY, Minn. – Each year, members of the Minnesota Christmas Tree Farmers Association work together with their colleagues in other states to provide “Trees for Troops.” Mark Hansen with Hansen’s Tree Farm in Ramsey says it is a way they can make sure service members and their families have access to a holiday staple.
“In Minnesota, we gather about 150 to 200 trees each year,” said Hansen. “It is one thing that tree farmers can do to show our appreciation to those that need them.”
Hansen says the tree farmers handle the donations of actual trees, but the general public can also donate financially to the cause by visiting christmasspiritfoundation.org.
