Fire at the Dakota Specialty Milling Company in north Fargo
FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) – A two-alarm fire was reported Monday night in Fargo’s industrial park.
The fire department responded to the Dakota Speciality Milling Company at 4014 15th Avenue North just before 8 p.m.
The first arriving engine reported heavy smoke showing from outside of the building and when they entered and found fire in a 100 feet grain dryer. The fire had extended from the dryer into vents out of the roof and into a nearby wall.
Firefighters working to put out the fire in zero visibility called a second alarm. All employees were out of the building. Firefighters worked on controlling the smoke so they could see and keep the smoke out of the offices and grain elevator space. Fire crews completed overhaul around 10:30 p.m.
There were no injuries. The cause remains under investigation.
The company has not yet determined the damage estimate to the equipment.
