Christopher Columbus statue (WCCO)
ST. PAUL, Minn. – More than a year after it was pulled down during a protest, the fate of the Christopher Columbus statue on the Minnesota Capitol grounds is still unresolved.
It’s up to the Capitol Area Architecture and Planning Board to decide what the next step is – if any. The statue is currently in storage. That board is in the middle of a two-year review to determine how members want to handle removing statues and monuments in the future.
The final plan will be submitted to an administrative law judge next January.
