Voting on Minnesota state fossil end October 1st

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Minnesotans have until 11:59 p-m Thursday to vote on the Minnesota State Fossil.

The Science Museum of Minnesota says the leading candidates are the Giant Beaver followed by Ancient Bison, Mary Ellen Jasper and Trilobite.   All candidates had to be found naturally in Minnesota and be old enough to be found as a fossil.

Officials at the Science Museum will announce the people’s choice for Minnesota State Fossil on October 13th, which is National Fossil Day.
