Ahmed Mohamed Abdullahi
GRAND FORKS (KFGO) – A woman is dead after an early morning shooting in Grand Forks.
On Sunday at 1:32 am Grand Forks Police responded to a 911 call reporting a suspicious person at a residence in the 1300 block of 8th Ave. N in Grand Forks. While investigating, the officers saw a man, later identified as 26-year-old Ahmed Mohamed Abdullahi, and a woman inside the house involved in what appeared to be an argument. Officers then heard a gunshot followed by the female leaving the house and falling to the ground. The woman suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to Altru Hospital for treatment where she later died.
Abdullahi was taken into custody after exiting the house. A handgun was recovered on scene. Abdullahi has been preliminarily charged with Manslaughter, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Theft of Property. Investigators believe the victim and Abdullahi were known to each other prior to this incident.
This incident remains under active investigation by the Grand Forks Police Department with the
assistance of the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
