ROSEMONT, IL – The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks topped the Chicago Dogs 9-4 Friday night.
Fargo-Moorhead jumped on the board in the top of the second inning starting with a Kevin Krause solo home run to take a 1-0 lead. Leo Pina sent a solo shot over the fence to give the RedHawks a 2-0 lead.
Pina would hit a 2-run shot in the top of the fourth inning to extend the ‘Hawks lead to 4-0.
Chicago got on the board in the home half of the fifth inning beginning with a K.C. Hobson RBI double that scored Michael Crouse cutting the RedHawks lead to 4-1. Hobson would be plated by an RBI double from Joey Terdoslavich to make it 4-2 Fargo-Moorhead.
Terdolsavich hit a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to narrow the RedHawks lead to 4-3.
Jordan George extended the ‘Hawks lead to 6-3 with a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning.
The Dogs scratched across a run in the bottom of the eighth inning cutting the RedHawks advantage to 6-4.
John Silviano hit an RBI double plating Pina in the top of the ninth inning to lift the ‘Hawks to a 7-4 lead. George drove in 2 runs with a double to give the RedHawks a 9-4 lead.
The RedHawks continue the playoff series in Chicago on Saturday, Joel Morgan will have the call, pregame at 5:10 p.m. first pitch 5:30 p.m. on 740 The Fan and 107.3FM.
