
Fire at Washington Square Mall (KDLM Radio)
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. (KFGO) – Several fire departments responded to Detroit Lakes Friday afternoon after a fire that may have been started by someone burning cardboard spread to Washington Square Mall.
Heather Ware-Nelson, who owns a business in the downtown mall, says smoke was coming from the roof and through the ventilation system. Nelson-Ware says there were no reports of injuries.
The Detroit Lakes Fire Department received mutual aid from Perham, Audubon Frazee and Vergas.
