ROSEMONT, IL – The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks punched their ticket to the post-season with a win over the Chicago Dogs 6-1 Sunday afternoon.
Fargo-Moorhead jumped on the board in the top of the third inning taking a 1-0 lead with a Correlle Prime RBI putout that scored Nick Novak.
The RedHawks added a solo home run off the bat of Sam Dexter in the top of the fifth inning to take a 2-0 lead.
The Dogs scratched across a run in the bottom of the sixth inning cutting the RedHawks lead to 2-1.
The ‘Hawks broke things open in the top of the seventh inning when Manny Boscan hit a 3-run base clearing double lifting Fargo-Moorhead to a 5-1 lead. Jordan George would drive in Boscan on an RBI single to take a 6-1 advantage.
The RedHawks return home to begin a series with Sioux City on Tuesday, Jack Michaels will have the call, pregame at 6:40 p.m. first pitch 7:02 p.m. on 740 The Fan and 107.3FM.
