(Minneapolis, MN) — The Golden Gopher football team is now eight days away from its season opening contest against fourth-ranked Ohio State. The Buckeyes visit Huntington Bank Stadium to open the 2021 season one week from tomorrow night. Minnesota has made it through fall camp and will not practice today.
The Gophers will begin game plan implementation tomorrow. Minnesota has not beaten Ohio State in football since 2001 when the Gophers upset the Buckeyes in Columbus. The last Minnesota win over Ohio State in Minneapolis came 40 years ago at the old Memorial Stadium in 1981. Next Thursday’s kickoff is set for 7 PM.
