Kaprizov Will Not Play In KHL In 2021-22
(St. Paul, MN) — The Minnesota Wild received some good news after the KHL’s CSKA Moscow announced that Calder Trophy winner Kirill Kaprizov will not join their club this season.
Kaprizov, a restricted free agent, played all of the 2020-21 season with Minnesota, but his former KHL squad tried to lure him back to the team with a contact offer earlier this summer.
The Wild and Kaprizov are still negotiating a contract, but yesterday’s announcement neuters the threat of the second-year player heading back to Russia.
