ST. PAUL, Minn. – Even after a rainy weekend through much of the state, severe drought conditions continue to impact farmers statewide.
Minnesota Ag Commissioner Thom Peterson says the numbers they see monthly are sobering and that last month, the state lost 21 dairy farms that had been struggling in part because of drought conditions.
Last week the state of Minnesota announced 17-million dollars in federal assistance would be headed to help the state’s farmers.
