GRAND FORKS, ND. (KFGO) – UND will make history on August 9th by becoming the nation’s first University to sign a memorandum of understanding with the U-S Space Force.
The newest U-S military branch will have a partnership program to utilize the research and workforce development skills of the nation’s top universities.
Space Force officials have said the presence of Air Force and Army ROTC detachments on campus also played a role in UND being invited to join the Partnership Program.
A news conference is scheduled Monday afternoon featuring UND President Andrew Armacost, UND Aerospace Dean Robert Kraus, and members of North Dakota’s Congressional delegation.
