Gary, IN – The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks victorious over the Gary SouthShore RailCats 9-1 Sunday afternoon.
The RedHawks jumped on the board early when Manny Boscan drove in Correlle Prime in the top of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead.
Gary SouthShore answered in the home half of the first when Billy Cooke scored on a Thomas Walraven RBI double to tie the game at 1-1.
The ‘Hawks got the lead back in the top of the fifth inning when Prime and Alex Boxwell scored on a fielding error to make it 3-1.
The RedHawks added to their lead in the top of the sixth inning starting with an RBI single by John Silviano that tied the franchise record of 27 consecutive games with a hit. Boxwell drew a bases loaded walk that scored Kevin Krause to make it 5-1 RedHawks. A Nick Novak 2RBI double drove in Silviano and Dylan Kelly to give the Fargo-Moorhead a 7-1 lead. Boscan would drive in Boxwell and Novak to lift the ‘Hawks to a 9-1 lead.
The RedHawks return home to start a series with Lincoln on Tuesday night, Jack Michaels will have the call, pregame at 6:40 p.m. first pitch 7:02 p.m. on 740 The Fan and 107.3FM.
