FARGO, ND – The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks fell to the Winnipeg Goldeyes 10-5 Sunday afternoon.
The Goldeyes got out to an early lead in the top of the second inning beginning with a Logan Hill 2-run home run to make it 2-0. Winnipeg added a Tyler Hill RBI double that plated Wes Darvill to take a 3-0 lead.
Winnipeg’s Kyle Martin crushed a 2-run shot over the fence in left field lifting the Goldeyes to a 5-0 lead.
Tyler Hill drove in 2 runs in the top of the sixth inning with his second double of the game making it 7-0 Goldeyes. Hill would score on a Jay Gonzalez RBI single to give Winnipeg an 8-0 lead going into the home half of the sixth inning.
The RedHawks got on the board in the bottom of the sixth inning starting with a Manuel Boscan RBI double scoring Correlle Prime. Boscan would be pushed across the plate on a Kevin Krause RBI to cut the Goldeyes lead to 8-2.
Darvill added to the Goldeyes lead with a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning making it 10-2.
The RedHawks put up 3 runs in the bottom of the eighth inning but the rally falls short as the ‘Hawks fall 10-5.
The RedHawks and Goldeyes are back in action Monday night, Jack Michaels will have the call, pregame at 6:40p.m. first pitch 7:02 p.m. on 740 The Fan and 107.3FM.
