GRAND FORKS (KFGO) – A Langdon man is in critical condition after being hit by a train.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says they responded to 17th Street NE & 17th Ave. NE, about 4 miles west of Grand Forks, just after 9 a.m. Friday for a report of a vehicle and train crash.
Deputies say the driver of a truck was headed south on 17th St. NE, going towards 17th Ave. NE and as the truck crossed the rails, the left side of the vehicle was hit by the front of the westbound BNSF train. The truck broke into two pieces and flipped over.
The man was taken to Altru Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
