MINNEAPOLIS (KFGO) – A federal jury has convicted a Becker County man on assault charges after prosecutors said he knocked out a person on Minnesota’s White Earth Reservation and dropped a cinder block on his head last year.
After a four-day trial, 22-year-old Wesley Warren of Ponsford was convicted on two of four counts.
According to trial evidence, on June 3 of last year, Warren and another man got into an argument with the victim, who was later knocked out.
Then, with the victim face-down, Warren dropped a 42 lb. cinderblock on the back of the victim’s head.
The victim was hospitalized for several weeks due to brain trauma and was later transferred to a long-term care center.
