STILLWATER, Minn. – About 150 soldiers from the Minnesota National Guard’s 34th Military Police Company return home Saturday.
The Stillwater-based troops were on a nine-month deployment to Guantanamo Bay Cuba where they provided base security. The unit was one of the first to respond to civil unrest in the Twin Cities following the death of George Floyd.
Since 9-11, members have also served in Bosnia, Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq.
