Several years ago, Amy and I had a guest on the show who talked about competitive puzzling. It was growing in popularity and there was even a documentary about it that was airing on television. (That interview is linked below)
So we thought…”Why don’t we start one?!?!”
A short time later the date was set for the first ever North Dakota Jigsaw Puzzle Championship! KFGO told listeners that we had partnered with The Red River Valley Fair to host 20 teams who competed to put together a 500 piece puzzle as fast as they can. Then, we found puzzles from a Minnesota puzzle maker and even got a trophy for the winners.
Now, YOU can compete in a competitive jigsaw puzzle qualifier. The top 10 teams will secure a spot in the 2021 North Dakota Jigsaw Puzzle Championship! Saturday, April 24th, at 1:00pm – you can compete as a solo builder or collect up to four people for a team and then start your engines – it’s puzzle time!
You can download this form, fill it out and send it in to the Red River Valley Fair. The next step is train – separate edge pieces, look for patterns, don’t wear long sleeves!
