Poached deer near Valley City, ND
VALLEY CITY, ND (KFGO) – Authorities are investigating the suspicious death of a whitetail deer in Barnes County.
The animal appears to have been shot according to the Barnes County Sheriff’s Office. The incident is under investigation with the North Dakota Game and Fish Department. The dead deer was located about a mile west of the Barnes County Municipal Airport on Monday, March 29th.
In February of 2021, a Valley City man was sentenced for his involvement in the illegal taking of whitetail deer in Barnes County stemming from several incidents dating back to October of 2019.
