WEST FARGO, N.D. – The last of the former West Fargo stockyards went up in fire Wednesday. A contractor conducted the controlled burn of the livestock building. The West Fargo Fire Department stood by as a precaution.
According to the NDSU Institute for Regional Studies, the stockyards opened in 1935 and went through several owners over the years. At one time it was considered one of the major stockyards in the Midwest.
The operation closed last year and the property was sold to a developer.
