MINOT – Central Cass is heading to the state championship game for the first time since 2013 following a 63-51 win over Carrington on Friday night.
Decontee Smith finished with a team-high 18 points, 6 steals, 5 assists and 5 rebounds for Central Cass. The Squirrels shot 8-12 from the three-point line and 11-15 from the free-throw line.
Hannah Hagel paced Carrington with 18 points and 7 rebounds while Sydnie Grager added 9 points and 3 rebounds for Carrington. The Cardinals finished 7-12 from beyond the arc.
Central Cass (24-1 overall) heads to the title game on Saturday against Grafton at 8:30 p.m. The Squirrels beat the Spoliers 55-53 in Casselton on December 19.
Carrington (20-6 overall) will play Wilton-Wing in the third-place game at 6 p.m.
