WAHPETON, N.D. – The Central Cass Squirrels are heading back to the North Dakota State Class B girls basketball tournament after a 58-52 overtime victory over the Kindred Vikings in the Region 1 championship.
The Squirrels were led by junior guard Rylie Holzer with 14 points. Sophomore forward Decontee Smith added 12 points in the win.
Kindred junior guard Abby Duchscherer paced the floor with 22 points. Junior center Terryn Johnson added a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds as the Vikings finish the season with a 19-4 record.
Central Cass improves to 22-1 on the season as they head to the state tournament in Minot.
