FARGO – Ryan Cobbins scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in North Dakota State’s 78-63 win over Oral Roberts on Saturday from the Scheels Center.
Leading 58-50, NDSU started the fourth quarter on an 8-0 run over a 4 minute and 22 second stretch that was too much to overcome for ORU.
“We didn’t start the third quarter well,” said Bison head coach Jory Collins. “They put us our heals a little bit, but we recovered from that and I think our kids know we have a bye next weekend.”
“We’re not playing four thirteen days, got to leave nothing in the tank. I think they just had a big sense of urgency to start the fourth quarter.”
Heaven Hamling added 14 points making 4 three-pointers, with teammate Reneya Hopkins adding 13 points and 3 three-pointers for NDSU.
Regan Schumacher paced ORU with 16 points and 6 rebounds.
NDSU (14-4 overall, 9-3 Summit League) hosts South Dakota State on Friday, February 9 for their next contest.
