SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota State throwers Alex Talley and Akealy Moton claimed Summit League Field Athlete of the Week honors for their performances at the Jim Emmerich Invitational on Jan. 23, the league office announced Tuesday.
Talley claimed his third consecutive Athlete of the Week honor after he added a foot to his career-best in the shot put. He won the event with a toss of 65-02 (19.86m), making him the third Bison ever to top 65 feet in the event, and currently ranked fourth in the nation.
Talley also remains the NCAA leader in the weight throw this season.
Moton won the shot put on the women’s side with a throw of 56-6 (17.22m). She is currently ranked second overall in the nation and is yet to be defeated in the event this season, topping 56-4 at every meet.
