FARGO (KFGO) – Fargo police have identified the victim of a Sunday morning shooting at the Arbors apartment complex at 703 23rd St. S.
Police Lt. Chris Helmick said witnesses reported that Ophelia Quiah had been injured and driven from the complex before officers arrived. Shortly after, officers were notified by a hospital that Quiah had been dropped off and that she had been shot. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Arbors security footage helped detectives identify Jerome Koon, who was with her. Koon left the hospital before officers arrived. The car that was used to take Quiah to the hospital was found in a parking lot, abandoned. Koon was found hiding in another vehicle. Police found a gun on the scene. Koon was arrested for aggravated reckless endangerment, felon in possession of a firearm and felony tampering with evidence.
Helmick says it appears that multiple people were involved and police are still working to identify potential suspects.
Fargo detectives and officers served search warrants on two homes. At one residence, detectives found a five-year-old that had been left alone. The child was placed with social services. They also seized narcotics at the location.
