FARGO, N.D. – (NDSU Athletics) The North Dakota State men’s basketball team rode hot shooting and stingy defense to an 84-58 rout of Denver on Saturday night inside the Scheels Center. The Bison improved to 7-1 in Summit League play.
NDSU led from start to finish, going up 10-2 in the first five minutes of the game and leading 46-20 by halftime.
The Bison once again put together a balanced scoring attack, with five players in double figures. Senior forward Rocky Kreuser finished with 17 points to lead all players, and junior Tyree Eady added 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting. Jarius Cook had 14, Jaxon Knotek scored 12, and Grant Nelson had 11 for NDSU.
NDSU shot a season-high 62 percent for the game while limiting the Pioneers to 41-percent shooting. The Bison drained 9-of-18 from three-point range.
Kreuser and Knotek both grabbed six rebounds to lead NDSU. Sam Griesel recorded five assists.
Bison freshman Dezmond McKinney scored a season-high eight points.
NDSU plays next at Kansas City on Friday, Jan. 29, and Saturday, Jan. 30.
