HANKINSON, N.D. (KFGO) – Seven fire departments responded to a fire at the Richland County Highway Dept. maintenance shop in Hankinson Tues. night. The blaze was discovered at about 8.
Richland County Emergency Manager Brett Lambrecht says it appears the fire started in the middle of the large steel building, but the cause isn’t known.
Smoke was pouring out all of the overhead doors of the building. Trucks, snowplows and other equipment was inside. There were no injuries.
Wahpeton sent its aerial truck in case it was needed to fight the flames from above. That trip took about 40 minutes.
Other departments responding were Hankinson, Lidgerwood, Mantador, Dwight, Great Bend and Fairmount.
