
Sharlene worked at the Moorhead Credit Union until she became a stay-at-home mom to raise their four children. She assisted Dick with the management of their rental properties. Shar was active in their church, Our Savior’s Lutheran Church with Sunday School, Church women’s groups, and bell choir. Sharlene was also active on the Moorhead School Board, American Cancer Society and Hospice of the Red River Valley. She enjoyed sewing, hardanger needlework, gardening and preserving vegetables, crocheting afghans and spending time with family and friends. Shar enjoyed her recent membership at Olivet Lutheran Church in Fargo, meeting new friends and attending Bible studies with Pastor Bill.
Dick and Shar enjoyed summers at Lake Sybil in the cabin which Dick (and friends and family) built in 1963. They began spending time in Ft. Myers Beach, FL, and Phoenix, AZ, in 1978. Upon Dick’s retirement in 1991, winters were spent in Ft. Myers Beach.
Surviving Sharlene are her children, Sheryl Hustad, Fargo, Michael, Big Pine Lake, Perham, MN, Mark (Terri), Fargo, Susan (Rene’) Philippot, Strawberry Lake, rural Ogema, MN; eight grandchildren, Joshua (Nevada) Hustad, Kayla and Kelsey Schultz and Jenna Schultz, Ashley Fisher, Nicole, Carly and Zachary Philippot; and five great-grandchildren, Elijah, Sundai, Bella, Jersie and Ethan with another great-grandchild due in June 2021; siblings, Shirley Arff, Corona, CA, Dennis (Cindy) Sobolik, Hallock. MN, Joanne Aamoth, Belview, MN, Bob (Daphne) Sobolik, Fordville, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Sharlene was preceded in death by her husband, Dick of 57 years, in 2013; grandparents; parents; parents-in-law, Francis and Thelma Schultz; sister-in-law, Marlene Sobolik; brothers-in-law, Alan Arff and Harley Aamoth; nephews, Blake Sobolik and Scott Arff; nieces, Janet Sobolik and Wendy Jensen Sobolik.

A private family service will be held. A Celebration of Life service will be held for the public at a later date.
