FARGO – Bismarck Legacy and Mandan played down to the wire in the Class A consolation championship on Saturday afternoon from the Fargodome.
Legacy would go on for a 3-2 (25-19, 16-25, 21-25, 27-25, 15-8) win over the Mandan Braves.
Mandan junior libero Pipper Harris finished with a single match tournament record 49 digs and tournament record 119 digs in three matches.
The previous single-match record was held by Lyndie Wichkand and Hannah Schiele with 47 digs and the tournament record was held by Taylor Hoekstra with 111 digs from Bismarck High in 2014.
Maggie Sorensen had 22 kills and 21 digs for Legacy and teammate Camaryn Bealsey finished with 46 assists and 28 digs.
Legacy wraps up the season with a 13-9 record and Mandan went 16-7 overall.
