VIKING, MINN. โ Work crews spent nearly two days making repairs and clearing a grove of trees along the railroad tracks of the Northern Plains Railway west of Viking, in northwestern Minnesota, after 10 hopper cars carrying grain derailed and block the rail line.
Repairs were completed and the tracks were reopened Saturday. Crews had to build a road to the area that had to be cleared where the cars are stacked so equipment could be brought in to remove the grain. That work is still underway.
Thereโs no word on what caused the derailment.
