HUNTER – The Northern Cass Jaguars battled the Kindred Vikings in a hard-fought match that took all five sets to declare a winner. In the end, it was the Jaguars coming out on top 3-2 and securing the #1 seed for the upcoming Region 1 tournament.
Northern Cass (10-0 region 1, 14-1 overall) was led by Middle Hitter Morgan Nelson and Outside Hitter Emma Lucas who both finished with 10 kills for the night. Sophomore Halle Crockett also played really well in this match-up; she consistently made big plays for her squad and is a big reason why Northern Cass won the match.
As for Kindred, (9-2 region 1, 11-3 overall) they’re clearly still one of the best teams in Region 1. Outside Hitter Abby Duchscherer completed the night with 9 kills. Rear Hitter Julianna Berg had some tremendous blocks as well in the match. Overall, Kindred stood toe-to-toe with Northern Cass and will look to seek revenge in the upcoming Region 1 tournament.
For Northern Cass, they’ll play their final regular season match over at Central Cass High school when they take on the Squirrels on Nov. 3rd at 7:00pm. As for Kindred, their next match isn’t until the Region 1 tournament which begins on Nov. 6th at 7:00pm.
