Legendary sports writer and radio host Sid Hartman has passed away at the age of 100 surrounded by his family. Hartman was a long time fixture on Sunday mornings on KFGO with the “Sports Huddle with Sid and Dave (Mona),” 65 years on WCCO radio in Minneapolis and a columnist for the Star Tribune newspaper for 75 years. He was known for his contacts and friendships in the sports world both on the local and national level. Hartman gave the presentation speech for former Vikings coach Bud Grant when he entered the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1994.
