In an effort to promote hunting and the shooting sports, GFP and the city of Watertown partnered on a gun range facility in 2018. This is a first come first served range that has an abundance of free and open shooting hours year round for South Dakotans and their visitors.
Shooting options include:
- (2) 25 yard pistol bays
- (2) 100 yard rifle shooting bays (each bay can handle 10 shooters)
- 200 yard metal target rifle shooting
- 300 yard metal rifle shooting
Other range amenities include shooting benches, bathroom facility, garbage/ brass containers and metal roofs over all of the shooting stations
Range hours:
- May through September 8am – 8pm
- October though April daylight to dusk
