FERGUS FALLS, MN (KFGO) – A rural Dent man faces arson and related charges for a weekend fire that heavily damaged a bridge near his home.
42-year-old Ryan Johnson is accused of setting fire to the bridge that links sections of Star Lake near Dent early last Sunday morning.
Sheriff’s investigators say they found several propane cylinder tanks underneath the partially-wooden bridge on a county road and there was a smell of gasoline at the scene.
Johnson, who has a home near the bridge, had been acting erratically according to the complaint and was upset that his dog had been hit and killed by a car recently. People who live nearby said they had suspicions that Johnson was responsible for the fire.
He denies having anything to do with the fire.
