Full disclosure: I’m not a huge Milli Vanilli fan. I am NOT.
Contrary to what you may hear on the KFGO Morning Crew. I’m not. Did I enjoy their music back in the late 80s? Absolutely. So did millions of others. What brought me to Milli Vanilli is the music critics picking and choosing who you listen to as a measure of your musical credibility. I don’t get that.
I also like McDonald’s fries, quarter pounder with cheese and McFlurry. I do.
If #1 songs mean anything then Milli Vanilli isn’t a bad choice. Girl You Know It’s True, Blame It On The Rain, Don’t Forget My Number and other songs were hits. But if you like Milli Vanilli, most musical critics will snub you. Why?
One of the best things about music and in similar fashion the outdoors is you can pick and choose what you enjoy. Don’t like boat fishing on big lakes for walleye? Go catfishing on the Red.
It’s your choice. Don’t enjoy 1970s music? Don’t listen to it. Pretty simple.
My constant reference to Milli Vanilli is to bring up the fact as fake as they were (the Kardashians are more legit) Milli Vanilli had more #1 songs than……
