Thomas Borum
WALKER, MN (KFGO) – A veterinarian from Mississippi who had taken a new job in Bemidji died Tuesday night when his small plane crashed into Leech Lake near Walker.
Air traffic control diverted the plane to St. Cloud because of weather concerns.
The National Transportation Safety Board says the pilot, 62-year-old Thomas Borum, departed from Natchez, MS, and spent about an hour on the ground in St. Cloud before he continued the flight to Bemidji. That was the last time that Borum was heard from.
The plane was recovered from the lake Wed. morning.
