MINNEAPOLIS (KFGO) – The Daily Mail has released body camera footage showing the moments before and after George Floyd’s May 25 death in Minneapolis.
The British tabloid published portions of the footage from former two former police officers. The body camera footage was made available for viewing by appointment after the videos were included as evidence in a motion to dismiss the charges against one of the officers.
Hennepin County District Judge Peter Cahill ordered that the footage couldn’t be recorded or distributed. The court administrator’s office says an investigation is underway into how the video was recorded.
The two bodycam videos reporters could view was 65 minutes. The Daily Mail’s footage includes more than 18 minutes.
