HONG KONG (Reuters) – China’s defence ministry said on Wednesday it firmly opposed a new U.S. arms sale to Taiwan as this would further damage the stability of cross-strait relations as well as Sino-U.S. ties.
The U.S. State Department said last week that it had approved a $620 million upgrade package for Patriot surface-to-air missles to Taiwan.
