In a 6-3 ruling the United States Supreme Court found that the LGBTQ community has certain rights. Rights that many of us as Americans already enjoy. Like the right to be with the one you love without fear of being fired from your job. And like the right to no longer have to lie and hide just to be who they are.
Nationally this caused a celebration for many of us. A celebration of 2 conservative judges that did the right thing and a celebration that there are four more that consistently do.
But this was all about firing someone. And trust me, there are many ways to fire someone. Beginning with not hiring them in the first place.
So, the celebration could be nothing more than symbolism. A ruling that only applies to a business of a certain size. One that many didn’t understand and many that did despise.
But that doesn’t matter because the day was already won by those deserving their rights.
Rights that I already have.
Good riding with you.
