MOORHEAD, MINN. (KFGO) – Moorhead Fire Department Assistant Chief Gary Larsen says it was first for him. Firefighters responded to a call just before 3 a.m. Thursday in the yard of a home 1321 12th Street South.
Larsen says he was a little surprised to find a yurt blazing away. A yurt is a round, tent-like structure, in this case, covered by canvas. Larsen says it burned to the ground. The fire was put out quickly.
A house and unattached garage were nearby but there was no other damage.
The cause is under investigation.
