JAMESTOWN, N.D. (KFGO) – A 56-year-old woman trapped inside a grain bin has died. It happened at a farm near Pingree north of Jamestown Wednesday night.
Stutsman County Sheriff Chad Kaiser tells KFGO News, the victim was inside the large bin helping load sunflowers into a semi when she was buried by the seed. Others outside lost cell phone contact with her, realized something was wrong and rushed to save her.
Kaiser says rescuers could hear her briefly and cut holes in the bin and were able to pull the victim out but it was too late.
The victim’s name has not been released. She was an employee at the farm and from Montpelier.
