FARGO, N.D (KFGO) – The North Dakota National Guard will conduct COVID-19 testing for correctional staff and inmates at the Cass County Jail Tuesday. The testing is being done as a preventive, proactive measure. There are no known positive cases within the jail at this time.
According to the sheriff’s office, the testing will establish a baseline and will help with future locations of the jail prisoners in order to make room for new inmates coming into the jai who will need to be isolated to ensure no spread from outside sources occurs.
The Cass County Jail can handle a maximum of 348 inmates. On average, the facility houses about 275 prisoners daily.
