FARGO (KFGO) โ Police Chief Dave Todd says say two people involved in a deadly shooting in north Fargo are in jail. He says two guns, believed to be connected to the case, have been recovered.
The shooting happened at around 7:45 a.m. Tuesday near Northport Shopping Center at the corner of 7th St. and 25th Ave. N. Police responded on a report of multiple gunshots. Todd said callers reported that the shots were fired in the shopping center parking lot. He has not released a potential motive and information on whether the four people are known to each other.
An eyewitness told KFGO News he saw a car swerve out the Northport parking lot after crashing into several signs. The car was damaged and ended up on the boulevard of a house across the street. He said several people inside the car were fighting.
The witness said two men then got out of the vehicle and walked past his pickup. Both were carrying pistols. He called 911 and then drove around the block. He returned to the crash scene where he found a man in the backseat of the car who was not breathing. He saw shell casings and a knife nearby. There was also a bullet hole in the windshield of the car. Firefighters and FM Ambulance arrived and attempted CPR on the victim but were not able to revive him.
The eyewitness said police found one of the men nearby who appeared to have been wounded. A second man was located by police several blocks away.
