If you have scrolled any social media sites lately, you will notice a new viral trend: stripping laundry. Stripping is usually used on towels, sheets or workout clothes to freshen them up and give them ‘a whole new life’.
This is especially helpful for those of you who have hard water! And, if you are using cloth diapers.
So, what is it? And, how do we do it?
Stripping your laundry is useful to remove buildup of minerals, soap or saponified oils, or other buildup that regular laundry routines aren’t able to deal with. It causes some extra wear on your laundry, so if you find yourself stripping items on a regular basis, you should take a look at and make some adjustments to your laundry routines. (read more…)
Here’s what you need:
1/4 cup Borax
1/4 cup Arm & Hammer Laundry Booster
Laundry soap (I’m a Tide person!)
Here’s what you do:
Fill your bathtub with hot water (as hot as the tap will get), stir in your ingredients and then throw in the laundry you want to strip (it should be clean, dry or wet).
Let it sit for 4-5 hours, stirring at least once an hour.
After it’s done, run it throw the washing machine. You can do a regular wash cycle or just a rinse cycle… and Enjoy!
Happy washing!
