Grant Nelson was named NDHSCA POWERade Senior Athlete of the Year in North Dakota Class A boys’ basketball on Wednesday.
Nelson guided Devils Lake to the State Tournament and was named Mr. Basketball in North Dakota this season.
The North Dakota High School Coaches Association votes on the award.
Nelson averaged 24.6 points, 18.3 rebounds and 5.7 blocks per game for the Firebirds during his senior year.
Boden Skunberg of Jamestown was the other finalist and he’ll join Nelson to play collegiate basketball at North Dakota State University.
