Milk production in North Dakota during the January-March 2020 quarter totaled 80.0 million pounds, this is unchanged from the January-March quarter last year, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service.
The average number of milk cows was 14,500 head, unchanged from the same period in 2019.
As for Minnesota milk production during March 2020 totaled 850 million pounds, this is up 1 percent from March 2019.
The average number of milk cows during March, at 445,000 head, was the same as last month but down 3,000 from 2019.
Monthly production per cow averaged 1,910 pounds, up 30 pounds from last March.
