“They already had the dresses,” says Coach Mike Zier from Beach, ND.
When his students were faced with not being able to have a prom because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Coach Zier challenged them to think up a way that they could still have some sort of spring fling – but stay socially distanced.
The answer they came up with is a great example of working through a problem and finding a solution.
The students showed up to the school’s parking lot wearing their finest prom dresses or jeans and had a socially distanced prom experience.
What does that look like? Coach Zier explains that they had their individual pictures taken by a professional photographer, they spaced out six feet apart and did a line dance to one song. It took about an hour of time and they even got a meal out of the deal. Coach Zier fired up his grill and bagged up some hamburgers to eat while a parade of cars drove down the road.
Way to go Buccaneers! You got to have a prom that no one will soon forget.
