PERHAM, MINN. – Shearer’s Foods has confirmed that a team member in the Perham, Minnesota manufacturing plant has tested positive for COVID-19.
In a statement, the company says the safety of its products, employees, and community remains a top priority. Shearers says it has taken the necessary steps to identify and notify individuals who worked closely with the team member diagnosed with COVID-19 and have asked them to self-quarantine at home for a period of 14 days.”
Shearer’s says the team member did not come in contact with the product and there is no food safety risk. As a result, the facility remains open and the company has conducted a deep cleaning of the contacted areas and equipment based on CDC guidelines and using EPA-approved registered products for COVID-19.
Shearer’s manufactures and distributes snack foods including potato chips, popcorn, cookies, crackers and wafers with plants nationwide and in Canada.
