Mask Donations
Essentia Health of Fargo is asking for homemade mask donations. During this pandemic, many of the medical grade masks are being used for the doctors and staff in direct contact with COVID-19 patients. With that said, these donations will be used for other staff.
If you can sew, they need you!
CLICK HERE for the CDC recommended pattern for the mask. It will require 2 layers of 100% cotton and elastic or a string to tie behind the ears.
In some cases, people who are wearing these masks for a long period of time are finding the ties can be more comfortable.
Donations
Essentia Health is taking mask donations Wednesday and Thursday from 10am to 2pm at their South University Clinic. Just pull up to the entrance facing University Drive (in the area where valet is usually staged) and a team member will come take the masks. No need to get out of your car!
Additionally, if you have N95 masks you are not using, they would appreciate a donation of those as well.
You can visit EssentiaHealth.org for more information.
Mask Reminders
The CDC is now recommending everyone wear a mask when in public. This does not take the place of social distancing and good hand washing.
Masks only work if you do not touch the mask and, when you get home, remove it by the strings or ties behind your ear and immediately put it in the wash. If you do touch the mask, immediately wash your hands throughly.
