Amid concerns over Covid-19, many have turned to grocery delivery. With that said, the popularity is causing some delays with many are not offering delivery for days or even weeks.
So, is going to the grocery story safe and socially responsible?
Experts say yes, but it’s important to take some precautions.
- Pick a good time – Being there during a time when there won’t be a lot of other people and you can maintain the six feet between other is important. You can always call ahead and ask about the traffic at that particular time.
- Be prepared with disinfectant wipes or tissues! Use them to open doors and push the cart. And, be aware when you check out, as well. If you can, use a credit or debit card so you don’t have to exchange cash.
- Make a list – Have a good curated list that you can focus on so you are not spending more time at the grocery store than needed.
- Don’t touch things you don’t need to (including your face) – We know now that this virus can live on surfaces. So, it’s important you do your part by not touching items you don’t want.
